Why you should have a blog for your website: Web Insite

First off Blog is short for web logs and if you own a website or are responsible for maintaining one you should have a blog associated with it. The main reason for this is marketability. Nowadays people on the internet search for content that is relative to what they are looking for and the more content they find about your website and or your services or products the better chance you have of them finding your site.

The main goal for creating a blog should be to inform. If you have a website that markets a service or product then more informative blog content could be a beacon of light for your site. You should look at your blog as the voice of your website on the internet.

There are many different ways to publish a blog. Start by locating a blog provider. If you already own a website check with your service provider to see if they offer blog hosting or you can create a Google account and they do offer a free blog service.

Once you obtain your blog URL the next step is to create content. Make sure your content is relative to your industry or write about something you already know. The fastest way to loosing a potential client is by not knowing what it is your talking about.

Next be sure to proof read your content for mistakes and errors. Your clients won’t all read at college level so make your content reader friendly. The easier you convey your message the more your readers will appreciate it.

There are other features your blog should posses, such as RSS feeds. RSS feeds or really simple syndication enables your readers to subscribe to your blog automatically. A news feed is just one of many options available to you when creating your blog site.

You can limit access to your blog, you can allow users to comment on your blog. There are a number of other options for you to choose from. Be sure to think about your blogs visibility and direction and you’ll do fine.
